Blast Calculations
In collaboration with European EMC Products Ltd (UK), we deliver engineered blast-load calculations for special shelter components—such as blast proof doors, blast valves, hatches, dampers, and louvers.
Our designs are tailored to project-specific threat levels and building geometry, with documentation suitable for authority approvals and compliance with applicable international standards (e.g., UFC 3-340-02, EN 13123/13124).
Scope includes hazard definition, load cases, structural sizing, connection detailing, finite element / analytical checks, and sealed calculation reports for fabrication and QA.
FEA Calculations
EEP carries out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) during the design phase to confirm suitability of the structure.
Based on the client’s specification EEP carry out initial blast calculations using dynamic finite element analysis, using ANSYS Explicit STR™ software. The ANSYS Explicit ETR program is based on the solver of the ANSYS Autodyn™ analysis program. This process leads to the optimal mechanical design and material selection.
